How it began…
PoppySeeds began in July 2022 as a way to culmination of naive ambition and my lifelong dream to start a blog. The first few posts were, well, what you would expect from first posts. I posted almost every other day, posting recipes, school reports, and creative writing prompts just to fill space. Through trial and error, I navigated WordPress, followed blogs, and stuck my toe into the pool of the great blogosphere. I’ve learned a lot since then, and I’m truly thankful for the friends who have supported me, and for the new people I’ve met and interacted with.
The Meaning of PoppySeeds
PoppySeeds is inspired by Matthew 17:21, where the disciples are complaining to Jesus that they can’t cast demons out of a little boy. Jesus responds
“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.”
I’m inspired by those words, and I want to live out that kind of radical, mountain-moving faith, and encourage others to do the same.
What to Expect
I write a wide variety of posts, from blog tags (a personal favorite!), photo dumps and recipes to YouTube reviews, creative writing, and recipes. It’s a lifestyle blog, so honestly I blog about pretty much anything!
