This summer has been one of the busiest summers of my life- so much has happened! One of the biggest things that happened this summer is that my grandma (Nanny) is moving from Florida to live with our family next month. We have been getting ready for her, and one of the things we have been doing is finishing the master bedroom for her.
Cue the photo dump! It has been really cool to see the room being finished- it’s amazing how fast it changed. Our house was built in the early 1800s, and our family moved here 14 years ago. (To read more about the move/beginning stages of renovating- read my moms blog at life’s little adventures.) The finishing-of-the-master-bedroom has been on the list for awhile, and the time has finally come.
First, there was drywall to be hung, sanded, etc. A friend of our family came and did it, he did a great job!

Finally, the drywall was done and it is time to paint.

The painting is going well! Mom picked a baby blue color for the walls/ceiling, white for the trim and slate grey for the fireplace. Her friend, Miss Heather, came to help her paint (and keep her company!).

The room is very bright and sunny, even with the lights off. It will be lovely for Nanny, I think she will really like it!
Keep checking back for more updates on the process- and to see the finished product!
